Falcons Garner Second Timken Recruit for Men's Hoops

The Falcons will be Canton Timken West soon....

The Blade reports that Desmond Rorie has committed to join teammate Jehvon Clark at BG for the 2011 season.

Rorie seems like a perfect player for our system.

• He's 6'9" and 220---and according to his Coach still growing.  In fact, his Coach speculates he may end up being 7'0" while he is in college.
• He didn't have great numbers as a junior, but that wasn't his role. A little internet work identifies that he is a great shot blocker, and I believe Coach Orr can develop his inside game.  And scoring might or might not be in his role at BG.
• Plays with his back to the basket.

Finally, his HS coach says this...

"I think he has as much upside as any big man in the state of Ohio."

Is the Coach biased? Maybe. So, let's say he has top 5 upside in Ohio. Still probably going to be pretty good, I'd say.
