Jinks Links

OK, so the first one isn't a link...one of the things that was important was getting a coach who would not need to change systems.  Because he worked with the Air Raid offense at Lubbock, he will fit well with BG, keep current offensive players here and maybe even get a couple of the commits back. And hopefully keep the transition pains to a minimum.

First, he is coming with good reviews from a Texas Tech blogger.  And we all know that bloggers have the real insight.

Applied for North Texas job.

He was also being considered for the OC job at UTSA, which he "brushed" off, for good reason.

This article talks about his fast climb to being Associate HC at Texas Tech...and says the rise "should not have shocked those who watched Jinks over the years."

Kliff Kingsbury, who is an old family friend, convinced him to leave HS.  Also, note the "I'll never leave Texas."

I remember thinking in 2001 "We're hiring a freaking wide receivers coach to be our head coach?!?!?! That's the stupidest thing I ever heard of!" Well - pretty sure I learned a lesson their! Welcome Coach Jinks!
