Clawson Presser....

I listen so you don't have to.

Not much to say today.  Most of the questions were about the team's psychology moving into the Miami game, if it is a big game, if you are happy to play the big game right after a bad game, etc, which is all prone to coachspeak and you can go to bgsufalcons.com and check it out if that is the kind of thing you like.  I don't think most of it was very interesting or original.

In the meantime, there were a couple things.

Although we made too many mistakes to Wyoming, he felt that we played well "toe-to-toe" with Wyoming and the offense and defense are both improved.

He says Miami is the best defense we will play all year.  They have a lot of guys back and are good all over the field.  The d-coordinator was brought down from Kent where they had a pretty fair defense last year (ate us up) and so they are good players who are well coached.  Dysert is a very good QB and he has an excellent receiving duo out there as well.

When asked about conference realignment, he said "we're just trying to get a first down."

He explained what the rover is, in response to a question.  It is an answer to the spread attacks, where they might run but you can't afford to have a LB guarding the other team's WR (unless it is Mitch Hewitt denying the last pass in the Purdue game....BOO-yA!) so you have a d-back out there.  By creating a hybrid position, you can make you base defense 5 dbs but have one back who is big and strong enough to cover the run.

He said that he expects Kyle Bryant to start at LT, which would mean the line would be Bryant, Robinson, Bojicic, Flewellyn and Roussos, as opposed to what we are run for the last two games with Bojicic at LT.  Coach feels this is our preferred alignment.

Jerry Phillips is out.  Adrien Spencer and Scott Lewis are expected to play.
