Last night in Toledo....
Wow. Last night in Toledo was certainly....well...memorable. I cannot remember seeing a game like that before....it was just crazy. Very entertaining. For those of you who care about the MAC's "reputation" in grown-up football circles, I think you should know it was not a good thing. As Bill Livingston of the PD sniffed on twitter very shortly after the game was over...
I think that's going to be the majority opinion, and this game will cement the MAC's reputation as the conference where "no one plays any defense." Don't bother anyone with facts...or that it was ERIC Page. He is somethin'.
The whole thing had a cartoon-like feel...
Anyway, NIU and EMU now control their destinies. The Huskies come to BG on Tuesday, then have two home games, one against Ball State, which is not a gimmee, and one against EMU that could, perversely, end up being for the West Title. EMU plays Ball State and Buffalo at home, before going to Kent and NIU to finish the season.
Actually, as I look at it, Ball State wins out and they win the West too. They play each of the teams in front of them coming home.
Of course, who can tell in today's MAC. NIU almost lost to Buffalo a couple weeks ago. This conference is completely unpredictable, starting, I hope, with a Falcon upset of the Huskies next week.
