More Basketball Recruiting News

The news here is that Jordan Crawford is coming to Bowling Green. If he is on scholarship (I guess a walk on is a possibility, but would guess not), he fills our last slot, created when Cameron Medlock transferred.

Here are some salient facts.

  • He played at LaSalle HS with Danny McElroy, one of our other recruits.
  • He is 5'6", but was leading scorer on his team (a good team, too).
  • He is a PG.
  • He had committed to Ashland, but left when they had a coaching change.

This has certainly caused some questions inside the nation. He is small, and another guard--I think lots of fans were hoping to see us get a big of some kind. He joins Jakubowski, Kraus, and Dee Brown at our guard position.

Having said that, a few other thoughts.
  • It is possible that there could be an additional opening on our team (not to name names, but if you follow you can figure who that might be). There could be a big there.
  • Anyone remember Earl Boykins?
  • Basketball at this level is a guard's game.
  • He did lead his team in scoring.

Welcome to the Falcons, Jordan. Look forward to seeing you in the orange and brown. Don't worry about the doubters, they never go away. Ever. Just show us what you can do.

Update: He was his conference's POY and second team all-state.
