BG has JUCO walk-on kicker
One of the bigger holes to fill this year for the BG football team is at kicker. Tyler Tate held the position down effectively for his time there, but he (and kickoff specialist Anthony Farinella) are gone and BG does not (I believe) have a PK on scholarship.
Last month, they received a walk-on commitment from an interesting player from Wyoming....via pretty much everywhere else. Blake Levin went to Cheyenne Central HS in Wyoming (where else) and graduated in 2013. He started his college career at Northern State (in South Dakota), transferred to Wyoming and then ended up at Santa Barbara Junior College. He had a big year there, making 9 for 10 on field goals with a long of 48 yards. He also made 32 of 35 extra points. He committed to Idaho as a preferred walk-on, but then Austin Peay offered him a scholarship, so he signed there.
Unfortunately, he says he had 30 credits from Wyoming that wouldn't transfer to Austin Peay (where the hell does Austin Peay get off?), SO he went back to Santa Barbara, where he had a much rougher second season, making 4 of 8 field goal attempts with a long of 37 yards, and 24 of 26 extra-point attempts.
And now it is on to BG, where he told his local paper (the one in Wyoming) that he was confident his credits would transfer and that he would kick in the Shoe in September. Also, he is interested in BG for its business school.

Based on the Spring Prospectus, here are the kickers who are at BG now, none of whom has attempted a FG after HS:
- Jake Suder (So): Toledo Central Catholic. Was 2nd team All-District.
- Sam Crosa (Fr): From Dublin, red-shirted last year. Made 36 of 40 FGs in HS, long of 49. All-Metro, All-District and all-Ohio 2nd team.
- Nick Fields (r-So): did a few Kickoffs for BG last year. Was All-District in HS.
