Anterograde amnesia Edition

"...coming off the field [BGSU Athletics Director] Greg Christopher said to me, `Short memory.' I will tell you what, that might have arguably been the best team we have ever played in my tenure as a head coach here at BG. They are the best overall complete football team - they were really good and they showed that today."--Gregg Brandon
As they say in the courts, I'm working strictly off the written record here, since I was on I-80 during most of the game yesterday. I was getting text alerts from ESPN so the drumbeat was coming by me regularly.

Frankly, its just as well. 55-24--and, frankly, the last two touchdowns were after the game was over and things were probably loosening up.

Coach said in the post game that this might be the best team we have played while he was there. They are a Top 10 team, and they proved it. Matt Ryan showed what its like to play against a Heisman Trophy candidate QB, and it appears the team is well coached and does everything well.

It looks as if we did move the ball through the air when we had to, but getting picked off five times is pretty much going to lose you a game against a team like that. Coach talked in the post game about how Tyler tried to force some things because he was putting pressure on himself to succeed on the big stage. This will be a learning experience for him.

Two of those were pick-sixes, and then we gave up a couple long passes, and had no answer for Andre Callender.

Now, back to having amnesia....

Amen. Because at the end of the day, this game meant nothing, as long as we can come back in Oxford on Saturday and play with the confidence we had before we walked onto the field in Chestnut Hill last Saturday.

I'll have an article coming on this soon, but here's the key item. We are starting a string of four straight division games. There is a very good chance that if we win all four, we're the East champs. At worst, it means we play at Buffalo in November to win. (Don't look now, but Buffalo is 2-0 in the division).

Finally, had a good time with the Boston College blog this week. Here's his early take on the game. Good luck to the Eagles. I'm rooting for you to be in a BCS game.
