Football Update
A quick look into football. No other players have joined the portal...DVDM pointed out in an interview that even if they enter the portal they have to stay at BG until the end of the semester, giving George the opportunity to talk to them. For guys leaving but not getting paid significant money, that could make a difference.
No assistant coaches have been named. However, DL Coach Cornell Brown and DB Coach Robert Armand have been told they will not be back. They are off the website...Brian White is still there, so no idea on his status.

I would think the excitement about this hire, executed so quickly, would cause players already in the portal to slow down and think twice. Next season could be fun in Bowling Green, right?
Could be...having said that, I always like to temper expectations because what happens is people get fired up and think it's going to be Urban's first year again. So, we have a lot of holes and were on track for a less than great year. I'd say the next two years could be fun.
No reason to enter the portal when the place you're at is the biggest story in college football right now. The excitement and potential is definitely real. If Mike Bakakian was hired it might have been a different story. Really excited to see the type of staff that George can attract.
