Benchmark Report: Idaho

So, continuing our review of the Idaho game, below are how BG's offense and defense performed against the MAC benchmarks.  The key here is that I try to look at things based on the the number of attempts.  For example, giving up four sacks on 25 passings attempts is much different from 50 attempts.  Also, I move the sack yardage and attempts from running yards and charge them against the passing game, which is more reflective.

There isn't a ton here that I didn't talk about yesterday.  Thanks to the BG red zone, Idaho had a lot of yards and not many points to show for it.

On punting, Schmeidebusch had good yardage, but all those touchbacks killed the net.

There was a surplus of negative passings plays (sacks and INT) on both sides of the ball, though few incompletions.

BG ran the ball on 40% of its plays.  I kind of feel that's not where we want to be, but the running game was doing ok, so I might have thought we would run a little more.

Neither team was great in the red zone, but 3rd down was a pretty key differentiator.
