WMU Beats Falcons By 9
That's a little worse than it really was. Game was tied with 3:36 left, and we didn't trail until the second half. Still, that's five in a row, and 12 out of our last 13 MAC games.
Erik Marschall seemed to be back, and working well inside with Nate Miller. Erik had 17 in the first half, but then WMU locked him down in the second half, and he ended up fouling out. Martin only had 12, and no threes until late in the second half.
This was a winnable game, if not an easy game. This team might be improving, but there isn't any bottom line evidence of it. We're not getting blown out like last year, yet it still hangs in front of us....12 of our last 13 conference games.
We play @ Central on Saturday. They're really bad, and that's a very winnable game. How long has it been, you ask, since we won a road game in the conference? January 26, 2006, @ Kent. One year from Friday.
On the post game, Coach was composed, though he said that Miller and Marschall had come to play--and intimated that Samarco had not really shown up. If we could get Miller and Marschall working the inside and kicking out to Samarco, I don't see why we couldn't at least score enough to compete.
Vital signs. WMU shot 43%--we should be able to win with that. We only made 13 TOs, but had 24 fouls. WMU hit 23 of 28 fts for the night.
1,445 people in AA tonight to watch a team that is now 10-9.
