So, amazing as it is....BG has now picked up its 3rd and 4th commits from the football hotbed of Springdale, AR, courtesty of Har-Ber High school. The previous two, Jay Brown and Torance Farmer have committed earlier and then yesterday and today this two young men also committed. It's just unusual to get four players from one school and to have it be a school 807 miles away.
If you are curious, the school is named for local industrialists Harvey and Bernice Jones.
They won the state title in 2009. Last year they had a bunch of controversies. So the school paper (I swear to God) broke a story about a transfer violation, the school tried to shut it down and then ended up forfeiting 3 wins.
My understanding is that BG has a family link to the area and has been riding it to recruit Har-Ber HS.
So, the players.
JaJuan Boyd is a 6'0" and 160 lb CB. This story said he was one of the top juniors in Arkansas.
Boyd returns from a sophomore season that saw him collect 32 tackles, including one for loss, four interceptions, seven pass breakups, one fumble recovery and a forced one. He returned three kickoffs for 44 yards. On offense, Boyd caught 12 passes for 116 yards. This story says he ran a sub 4.5-40.
His twitter feed revealed one FCS offer and if there are others I was unable to find them.
The other is LB JB Brown. He's 6'2" and 210 and runs a 4.6 as well, based on his hudl page. This is a guy who there's not much out there on, but he offers from NE State, Missouri State, and Indiana State on his twitter feed.
Welcome to the Falcons, JaJuan and JB.
