Hassan Belton to Retire

So, Hassan Belton has decided to leave football for medical reasons.  He will graduate in August and we wish him nothing but the best for his future.

It is a reminder of the risk that these young men take to play college football.

Belton came to BG in January of 2018 as a JUCO transfer at LB.  Also, he was injured playing Maryland, the type of game BG plays to fill the coffers for the entire athletic department.  After the game, Coach Jinks said his injury "doesn't look good."

Belton started last year on the starting line of the depth chart.  He was expected to contribute right away and was part of a catastrophic string of injuries that crippled an already challenged defensive unit.
