Weekly Clawson Presser
Coach Clawson held his weekly presser today...straining out the coachtalk and the platitudes, there were three things that I felt came out.
First, the team is practicing as if Dri Archer will play. If he doesn't play, you are one step ahead.
Second, he talked about their new QB. His name is Colin Reardon. He attended Poland Seminary, which is South of Youngstown and firmly located in the football belt. He is a redshirt FR who made his first start in the Liberty game.
He had a good day. He was 21 or 28, with 2 TDs and 0 INT. It was a conservative approach--he had only 194 yards on those attempts. Still, a very solid opener. He ran the ball 10 times for 38 yards and was not sacked. Coach says Kent opened their offense up for Reardon, which makes them harder to defend. I would point out that he was passing against Liberty.
Third, Coach talked about the BG QB situation. Matt Johnson will start Saturday. Schilz has been practicing very well. Coach had high praise for Schilz and how he has reacted to the overall situation, which is good to hear. It sounds to be like Coach is being very direct with both players and will play the one that gives BG the best chance of winning. Kent has a very solid defense and they know have Johnson on film, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out in a very big game on Saturday.

Who is coaching the offensive line with Coach Durkin suspened? I assume it's the GA Alex Stadler, but GA's have a bunch to do so who will pick up those responsibilities?
It is a good question, I have no idea
