My MAC Predictions Collide with Reality

So, back in August, before anything started, I made my picks for how the MAC would turn out for football. Now, it is time to pay the piper and review/laugh at what we came up with.  Below are my picks, what actually happened, and my excuses.

East:
1.  Ohio
Reality:  3rd

OU was hamstrung by injuries or this might have come true.

2.  BG
Reality:  2nd

Boo.
Yah.

3.  Miami
Reality: 5th

I thought they would be better and they were, but they didn't make as much progress as I expected.

4.  Kent
Reality:  1st

Swiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnng and a miss.
I didn't like Kent's offense and they ended up scoring 35 points a game.

Nostra-freaking-damous.

I did say that I thought Hazell was going to be good and he was.

5.  Buffalo
Reality:  4th

They were a little better than I expected but this one was pretty much on.

6.  Akron
Reality: 7th

They were who we thought they were.

7.  UMass
Reality:  6th

FBS Cherry-buster keeps them out of last.  NY Times says, WTF Dude?

West

1. WMU
Reality:  5th

The Hindenburg of predictions.  I thought they had the right games at home and they were finally going to break through and win.  They went 2-6.

2.  UT
Reality:  3rd

Two losses to the two teams that finished ahead of them doom Rockets.

3.  NIU
Reality:  1

My pre-season comment was about their "unknown" QB.

4.  CMU
Reality:  4th

How you like me now?

5.  Ball State
Reality:  2nd

Ball State is an up and comer in an upwardly mobile MAC.  They made more improvement than I expected, to be sure.

6.  EMU
Reality:  6th

So obvious it barely even counts as right.
