• Lafayette is an OLD university.  It was founded in 1826, two years after Marquis Lafayette would have been in the area for his triumphant tour of the U.S.
• There are literally dozens of towns, schools, and a university named for Lafayette.
• Lafayette is in Easton, PA, which is right on the border with New Jersey.
• They are the Leopards.
• With Lehigh, they are part of the most-played rivalry in college football.  They have played 160 times.
• They have won 3 national championships in football, the last in 1926.

Last Season

• They were 6-6 and 2-4 last year.
• Lost their opener to UB 30-13.
• They were 56th in scoring offense and 47th in scoring defense.

• They were picked 5th in the pre-season Patriot League poll.

• Their offense is historically run-focused, though their RBs are new this year.

Miscellany

• BG is a 16.5-point favorite
• The teams have never played.
• Lafayette has never played in Ohio, though they are 2-0 against teams from Ohio, with the last meeting in the 1940s.
• TJ DiMuzio is their OC, he was a grad assistant at BG during the Clawson era.
• Joe Shimko is on their depth chart at DL, he was on our roster last year.
