McAuliffe MAC East Offensive Player of the Week
So, this almost never happens. It should, but it doesn't. There just aren't any stats for offensive lineman to show how good they are. Having said that, congratulations to BG lineman Tim McAuliffe for the honor. Long overdue. The line had a dominating day out there.
Also, the release below from the MAC uses the word "jaunt."
Offensive Player of the Week: Bowling Green OL Tim McAuliffe
Bowling Green junior center Tim McAuliffe (Lemont, Ill.) led the offensive line as it paved the way for a rushing attack that dominated Kent State in a 42-7 victory. Bowling Green rushed for 420 yards, the most for the program in 18 years and had three running backs top 100 yards on the ground for the first time since 1978. Bowling Green had not topped 400 yards rushing since totaling 424 against Kent State on Oct. 24, 1998. The offensive line also did not give up a quarterback sack in the contest. Donovan Wilson carried 30 times for 146 yards and two scores, while Josh Cleveland had eight rushes for 131 yards, including an 85-yard touchdown jaunt. Fred Coppet had 19 rushes for 105 yards and a touchdown as well. In total, Bowling Green rushed the ball 66 times.
