Football Verbal #4
The Internet provides us the news this morning of a 4th Falcon verbal....pocket passer Cody Callaway of Midview HS, located south of Elyria between Oberlin and Strongsville.
Coach Clawson says we want one QB in every class and if that is the case, this would be the guy. He had a very productive junior season, throwing for over 2,000 yards and being named Divison II first team all-state. He had offers from BG, Toledo and Buffalo according to cleveland.com. He was also the district's offensive player of the year in Division II.
Other internet research indicates he started at QB as a freshman. He's athletic--he also has D1 offers in baseball--and he's tough....he played the season on an injured ankle and he played the last three games with an injured finger.
He certainly appears to be a very productive HS player. He's in Division II, which means he isn't playing the largest schools but is in the second largest division. (Zac Dysert played at Ada which is Division VI). You have to like everything you see about him and he had options, which is a high five to our coaching staff.
Welcome to the Falcons Cody.
Updated on May 6: Here is a story on the commitment in Cody's local paper. Note again the strong impact our coaches are making in the recruiting process.
