The Falcon Defense--maybe better than you think

When asked about the Akron offense after the game Saturday Coach got a little, shall we say, prickly. He mentioned that our defense is pretty highly ranked.  Which it is.

This is something I think we tend to get a little bit myopic about.  Because Halfway through the season, and with a pretty tough schedule, let's look at how BG did.  It is pretty good.  The numbers would tell you that this is a very good defensive team, as seen on the field this year.

#1 in scoring defense.
#1 in yards per game allowed
#3 in yards per play allowed
#3 in rushing defense
#2 in yards per carry allowed
#3 in pass yardage per game
#4 in yards per passing attempt allowed
#4 in TD passes allowed
#4 in pass efficiency defense
#11 (tied) in Interceptions
#5 in 3rd down conversion
#7 (tied) with -2 Turnover margin
#3 in red zone trips allowed
#4 in red zone percentage
#4 in points per red zone trip allowed
#4 in sacks

Since they put Gabe Martin at bigger role defense has more range. He has brought something special to defense. I guess he's flying under the radar. Because he's a stud
