Fordham Addendum

Somehow I missed this when I was at Anderson Arena, but apparently there was some trouble with Darryl Clements on the bench. According to The Blade, he was taken from the game after giving some nonverbal talk back to a Falcon's assistant, and then he later stormed off the court after ripping his jersey off.

Early in the second half, starting guard Darryl Clements was removed from the game when he rolled his eyes and slumped his shoulders in response to something assistant coach George Jackson said.

Shortly thereafter, Clements threw his jersey, headed for the locker room and didn't come back.

"It wasn't Darryl being disciplined or anything," BG coach Louis Orr said of Clements' disappearance. "It was an emotional time at that point. D is a good young man and our captain and we're a family. We'll work things out."

Orr declined to say if Clements was in the locker room after the game or elaborate any further about the incident.

I listened to the post-game audio, and Coach Orr downplayed the incident. It's not a good thing, for sure. I suspect this kind of thing happens in private (like in meetings or a practice) more than we know, but it is rare to see it break out in front of a live game. Hopefully, they will work things out, and Daryl can continue to contribute, starting against Buffalo.
