More football transfer news... this one at a big-time position of need.
The name is Austin Osborne, a WR transfer from Washington. In HS, he was a four-star recruit. For whatever they are worth, recruiting rankings would have him higher than any other player who came to BG out of HS. We have had one or two very highly ranked transfers...WRs, too...and didn't see much, so hopefully this is the one who breaks the mold.
He had a large number of P5 offers.
He went to Mission Viejo HS in California, where he would have been a teammate of Matt McDonald's.
Osborne did not produce much at UW. He redshirted and then played in four games as a R-FR and one as a sophomore. He has one career catch for a loss of 2 yards. Here's a story about the program looking for him the highly anticipated recruit to break through.
He was all-Academic in the Pac 12 and here says he is a grad transfer with 3 years of eligibility remaining.
So here's a classic opportunity to see if a change of scenery can reignite a young man's career. We certainly need WR help and he will get a shot.
Welcome to the Falcons, Ausin.
All academic ruled out a transfer to Toledo
