BG has a new football verbal from Western PA. His name is Chase Whatton and he's a 6'4", 235 pound SDE from Elizabeth Forward High School. (Name is weird, developed because the school serves Elizabeth Township and Forward Township. Township is named for Walter Forward, a US Treasury Secretary in the 1840s.)
He was all-conference, all-state and the 3A Big East defensive player of the year.
How's this sound?
So, 29 TFL. That' a wow right there.
And he was a junior when that happened.
Welcome to the Falcons, Chase (And apologies for mis-spelling your name, now fixed.
His last name is actually Whatton.
ReplyDeleteGood article from the Post on him. He certainly sounds like a quality person and player but like others we earlier offered and lost I believe he can be easily flipped by a Power 5 team. He readily admits he is dying for a Pitt or Penn State offer. He is going to be tough to hang on to if that offer comes.
ReplyDeleteWell, time will tell on that. Ultimately, he deserves to play where he wants to. We have held on to guys as well when the P5's come calling.
