Last year, it was #11 CMU.
This year, it was #12 Miami.
The good news is that next year it will be impossible for BG to lose to a worse team.
I know...EMU and Buffalo struggled tonight, too.
Difference is, they won.
Yes, I know Miami had some close losses and almost beat OU, etc. The point is that the last 9 teams that had played Miami had managed to beat them...which Bowling Green did not.
Miami right now has four conference wins. Two of them were against the Falcons.
It is just incredibly disappointing. This is a game that BG should never have lost and it is the second year in a row it has happened. The only thing going for BG this year has been playing well at home, and you just have to win this one on your home floor. It was already a poor season, but you had a chance with two very winnable tournament games to at least get into a quarterfinal game with a team you beat.
And it ended like that instead.
I am sure that everyone involved with the program feels the same way, especially seniors who left their collegiate basketball careers behind on that effort. It has to be a very difficult night.
