This week, the Monks of the International Centre for Special Teams Research looked out to the northerly sky and saw an omen...a portent...a star streaking across the sky. (This photo taken on Brother Dominic's Iphone 2).
On Saturday, of course, the prophecy revealed itself...as BG nailed a 42 yard FG, its longest of the year to date and first over 40.
It was, for that and other reasons, tied for BG's best special teams performance this year and certainly the most positive plays. They were led by the return of the punt game--Schmeidebush had a really good game. This would be even better if BG had avoided penalties on those punt returns...which were on the way to being +1 and ended up -1.
It was also a good day for the Minutemen. They had only one negative play for the entire game and also had some success in the punting game.
