Basketball Verbal....

Last night Coach Stone tweeted that he was very excited to have inked the first verbal of the 2012 class.  He said the signing took place in Virginia, and in the meantime, the internet has revealed the identity of the Falcon, and from what I can see, there is good reason to be excited.

His name is Spencer Parker, and he played in West Bloomfield, MI.  He is playing this year for Fishburne Military Academy's post-graduate basketball team, which is a relatively new entrant in that field, but appears to produce D1 players consistently.  He is listed at 6'6" to 6'7" and is listed as a SF on the recruiting sites.  Obviously, if a guy that size can truly play 3 in the MAC on both ends of the court, he does present match up problems.

Parker was very productive while in Michigan.  In naming him All-Oakland County, the Oakland Press said:
Spencer Parker, West Bloomfield Sr. F — The big reason why West Bloomfield went 10-4 in the OAA Red and had surprising success, Parker showcased his stellar all-around game all season. He finished averaging 23 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game this year.

“Spencer meant so much to this team and program,” West Bloomfield head coach Jeremy Denha said. “He is a special talent and a wonderful young man. He is a big reason for all of the success that we had this past season.”
Welcome to the Falcons, Spencer
