Akron Papers on the Zips.....

The Zips come into Anderson tomorrow.  There will be a real preview popped up tomorrow, but in the meantime, here is a quick review of the news coverage the Zips are getting.

They are pretty pleased with the win over Ball State.  With BG and Buffalo losing, they climbed right back into the race.  The Zips also believe that they are getting back to their successful ways and are poised for a strong finish....

Now, heading into the second round of divisional play, the Zips are playing like a team on the rise.

''We have been good-good-good, bad-bad-bad. We are getting more consistently good than consistently bad,'' UA coach Keith Dambrot said. ''We need to keep playing well. We have shown we can play well. For a while, we didn't show we could play well.

''We are starting to make hustle plays, starting to look like the old Zips.''

They are also looking at their past success...the Zips are one of only 23 teams in D1 with 5 straight seasons with over 20 wins, a record which is seriously in doubt so far this year.

''It's good for the program that we can win that many games in a season,'' said senior forward Brett McKnight, who reached the 1,000-point mark for his career Wednesday night in an 83-71 triumph over Western Michigan. ''It's building and building on each year.

''The older guys set it up for us. I have had 20 wins every year since I have been here and want to have it again.''
