Coach told it pretty much like it is....perhaps a little blunter than he would have liked because he is plainly frustrated. Anyway, a few nuggets..
- We are not a very good football team right now. We don't stop people on defense and we are not balanced on offense.
- When talking about the first two series, when BG was inside the 5 and got nothing, he said....
Its pretty sad when you have the ball on the 2-3 yard line and you put it on your O-lne and you can't get 2-3 yards. You count on knocking guys a half yard off the ball and we didn't do it today, last week, and really all year except the 4Q against Marshall.
- Not a new problem. We are not very good on the offensive line.
- Defense struggled to get off blocks. Their skill made BG look "silly" at times.
- Big props for Schilz coming off an injury. BG dropped 7 passes in the 1st half. Schilz played a good game.
- There is nothing to change. Guys gotta get better. We are what we are. Not very good.
- Some guys are playing hard but the team has regressed since the Marshall game. (Me: this is the first hint that we have gotten that some guys are not playing hard).
- He named several players who are going hard, and said they are the kind of guys you can build a program around.
- We did move the ball when Roussos and Flewellyn were on the O-line.
- We need to be more resilient, and are still learning what it takes to win.
- There is no quick fix.
