Signing Day

It is football signing day?

Did you hear?

K, thought so.

I'll have more uninformed thoughts later, but here a couple of initial things.

First, we run an ongoing list of verbal committments in the left sidebar of this blog. Each of the 19 players in the side are in the class, meaning that most of the Brandon recruits stayed with the program. I think, in the end, we dropped three total.

Second, the three players not listed include:

  • Aunre Davis, DB (Heavily rumored, though I never found independent confirmation). Also highly ranked as an athlete, plus his Dad was a Rocket! Oh yeah, baby.
  • Erique Geiger, RB from Huber Heights. (Geiger is pretty highly ranked on ESPN.com).
  • Vince German, FB (yes, fullback) from Newark. (Pronounced "nerk" if you are from there).
One thing about Coach Clawson that we appreciate in the blogosphere is that he makes stuff up. Cool! We feel right at home. In this case, he has defined the "State of Bowling Green" as being everywhere within four hours of year, and says that 19 of the 22 players are from this state.

We'll know it all went too far if he resigns his job to run for Governor of the State of Bowling Green, but in the meantime, I like the concept a lot.

Anyway, the Falcons have a class of 22 announced, and here they are:
