The NCAA moved the three-point line back a foot since last year, and I was curious to see if that was good for anyone except the people who paint basketball floors.
To say the least, the difference has been negligible. In D1, 3FG% has fallen from 35.02% to 33.99% and there is about one less 3-pointer per game...from a little over 38 to a little over 37.
Yes, the game has gone merrily on.
In the MAC, six teams are shooting better than last year and six are shooting worse.
Bottom line: if you want to change the game (and I suspect they didn't), you're going to have to move it more than that.
Miami has the second best 3FG% in D1 hoops, which is something I just noticed. They are in the bottom 15% or so in terms of attempts, however.
