Falcons in the Pros

Cut day did not work out very well for the former Falcons.

Of course, the biggest news was that the Steelers cut Omar and put him to the practice squad. While not the worst possible outcome, it wasn't a good one. I am afraid it will attach a "left college too early" stigma on him that will stay with him for his career. Clearly, the Steelers have questions about him. Big Ben is down with an appendectomy, and they need a back up by Thursday (they kept only two QBs). The Steelers have signed Brian St. Pierre to compete with Omar for the back up. If they had confidence, he'd be up right now.

PJ Pope was cut by the Bears but made the practice squad. Good for PJ. It is more that I expected.

Charles Sharon was cut, as was Robert Redd.

Scott Mruzcowski hung on with San Diego. Ditto Khary Campbell with the Redskins. Shaun Suisham stayed with the Cowboys.
